KINGSPORT PERINATOLOGY ACCREDITED

FOR THREE YEARS BY NATIONAL ORGANIZATION

KINGSPORT – Kingsport Perinatology, which features a physician who is board certified in maternal and fetal medicine, has earned accreditation from a national organization.

The practice recently received accreditation for three years from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. The designation means Kingsport Perinatology meets or exceeds national standards in every facet of ultrasound.

"We are pleased to receive this accreditation," Dr. Jorge Lodeiro said. "My staff and I work hard to deliver the highest level of care for our patients and appreciate the external grasp of the excellent work performed in our practice."

In addition to Dr. Lodeiro's maternal and fetal medicine board certification, he is also certified in nuchal translucency. Two sonographers in the practice are certified in nuchal translucency and nasal bone imaging.

Kingsport Perinatology offers Level II ultrasound, which is a targeted fetal ultrasound that measures all fetal parameters and looks for possible abnormalities in the fetus, amniotic fluid, placenta and uterus. The practice conducts Doppler flow studies.

To qualify for accreditation, Kingsport Perinatology had to prepare obstetrics case studies, images and reports to meet a specific, 10-point assessment established by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. The practice had to show proof of credentials and continuing education for Dr. Lodeiro and sonographers and provide maintenance protocols for ultrasound machines.

Kingsport Perinatology is a member of Wellmont Physician Services.

With no personal property taxes, special assessments, or state income taxes on salaries/wages, you’ll find that Kingsport has a very low cost of living coupled with an exceptionally high quality of life (see for yourself at www.BestPlaces.net). The regional airport (TRI) has direct flights to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Orlando and St. Pete/Clearwater with easy access, parking, and virtually no security lines. The public education system was planned by Columbia University and Newsweek has repeatedly recognized the local high school as one of the best in America.
