Kingsport City Schools Position Announcements

KINGSPORTKingsport City Schools is pleased to announce appointments to several administrative positions.

 

Tammie Davis has been selected as Supervisor of Elementary Programs and Professional Personnel. She has served as the principal of Lincoln Elementary since 2004. As Supervisor of Elementary Programs and Professional Personnel, Ms. Davis will be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of all professional personnel and will provide support for elementary schools. She began her career as a music teacher at Sevier Middle School and served as an assistant to the principal at Jefferson Elementary. Davis holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Tennessee Tech, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University. Ms. Davis is replacing Delores Richmond, who recently retired as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.

 

Several other positions created by the recent Race to the Top initiative and funding award are also being announced. These positions are part of the Kingsport City Schools' plan for Tennessee's Race to the Top reform and are funded as part of the state's successful federal grant application.

 

Dr. Chris Hampton will serve as the Secondary Curriculum Supervisor for Kingsport City Schools. As Secondary Curriculum Supervisor, Dr. Hampton will oversee the implementation of middle and high school curriculum reforms related to the Race to the Top initiative and the Tennessee Diploma Project.  Dr. Hampton previously served as an Assistant Principal at Dobyns-Bennett High School. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, a Master's Degree in Counseling, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from East Tennessee State University.

 

Andy True has been named Administrative Coordinator for Kingsport City Schools. True will be responsible for the coordination of the Race to the Top initiative implementation and communication efforts. True previously served as an Assistant to the Principal at Jackson Elementary and an elementary teacher at Kennedy Elementary. True holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, a Master's Degree in Education from Milligan College and an Ed.S. Degree in Educational Leadership from East Tennessee State University.
